Thank you to everyone who joined us in Wisbech Town Park for Apple Day 2021!
We were joined by:
- CP Learning Trust who had offered bird feeder craft activity and apple-themed tombola
- Wisbech Child & Family Centre handed out free craft activity packs
- Caroline & Elias Symonds brought their gorgeous vintage vehicles including their grey Fergie 1954 tractor and Fordson 1952 pickup truck
- Andrew and Maddie from ECHO Company UK CIC added to the vintage vehicle joy with their lovely Land Rover and bushcraft display
- The whole Bramblebee Farm family came along to sell their delicious butchered meats to take home and to eat fresh off the barbecue
- To add to that, Smith’s Farm Shop had a gorgeous array of fresh produce including loads of varieties of local apples, jarred goods, cheeses, bakery products and so much more
- Oliver from Marshland Cider had a fantastic display on cider making and also all of his different types of cider for sale
- If you wanted to learn about apples, orchard conservationist Bob Lever had a display of local varieties and was available with any orchard advice as well as to identify any apple varieties that people brought along
- Wisbech & Fenland Museum had craft activities, photo and object displays and also lots of interesting books and memorabilia for sale
- As if that wasn’t enough, Fascinating Fens added to the heritage memorabilia for sale
- Blackfield Creatives were nearby to talk about and get people involved in their Vertical Garden project
- Our ears were delighted with tunes from folk a cappella group Sound Tradition, ceilidh band Dennis Cuddles Starlight Band and a fantastic cookery demo from local chef Alison Sloan – not to mention getting the event officially opened by Wisbech Mayor Cllr Andrew Lynn
- With thanks to Coady PA Hire for tech and sound support, Kanazawa Security for security and first aid, Latta Hire for event portaloos and to Mobiloo for their extra special changing places unit with adult changing table and hoist.
Lastly a massive thanks to both the Wisbech Town Council and Fenland District Council who not only gave permission for use of the park, but who were also fantastic supports to us on our project launch. This will be the first of at least three fully funded Wisbech Apple Days. Here’s to next year being even bigger and better!!
